🇯🇲 Hurricane Melissa Relief: Two Ways You Can Help Jamaica Now
The devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica has left countless families struggling, including the relatives of a member of our own church community. We are mobilizing our compassion into action, and we invite you to join us.
There are two critical ways you can contribute to the relief efforts:
1. Direct Support for a Church Family (Tanya's Fund) 📦
We are directly supporting Tanya, who attends our church, to send desperately needed supplies to her family in Jamaica who have lost everything.
-
Current Progress: We have already raised $2,000! This includes $300 to cover the shipping cost of the first container and an additional $1,700 for purchasing essential supplies.
-
How to Donate:
-
Donate to the 'Jamaica Fund' at church.
-
Use cash or cheque on the offering plate (place your name on the envelope for a tax receipt).
-
Donate via e-transfer.
-
2. Doubled Impact via the Canadian Red Cross 🇨🇦
For wider relief efforts, you can make a donation that will be matched by the Canadian Government, effectively doubling your impact.
-
Matching Opportunity: The Canadian Government will match funds donated by individuals to the Red Cross Hurricane Melissa Appeal.
-
Deadline: This matching program is active until November 24th.
-
How to Donate:
-
Donate online directly to the Canadian Red Cross - Hurricane Melissa Appeal.

💔 A Plea from the Front Lines: Tony Lee's Report
The need on the ground is immense. Tony Lee, who led a relief group to Jamaica this week, shared a brief but powerful update with us:
"We are doing work at one of the churches helping with cleanup. They need a new roof. They’re preparing 6,000 meals a day at the same time. A big dump truck was speeding, ran over an elderly man, and he died in my arms."
This tragic firsthand account underscores the chaos and dire circumstances facing the Jamaican people. Every donation helps us support the cleanup, feed the hungry, and rebuild critical infrastructure.
A Clip From Tony Lee
Tony Added: By the way, Mary is the pastor of the church and the inside of the building is where they hold their services. Which is now used as supplies, cooking, and fresh water
Lets pray for the victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.
Bring comfort and aid to Tanya's family and all residents who have lost everything.
Strengthen Tony Lee, Helen, and the relief workers serving on the ground.
Grant healing and hope to Jamaica.
